Amazed!

Hello Everyone!

Just came back from my trip to Europe...No is was not for pleasure ..it was work! however ..I during the trip I manage to take a couple of pictures that I will like to share with you..

During my trip to took a quick walk around the center of basel and there was two things that capture my attention. The first one was this beautiful lady playing the accordion...for some reason it reminds me the lady with the birds on the Mary Popping movie...

The other was, the old man selling one of favorite winter treats! Warm Chesnuts! ...a very clasic thing you will find all over Basel this time of the year!

The city was beautiful and the weather great...here is a take of one on the two main bridges that connect the city with the rest of the land

Creative Photography Retreat!

CPR has been the best retreat seminar I have ever take! This past October 10-13, in Stamford, Connecticut I was able to meet the most amazing photography instructors and a great group of amazing and talented friends!

I was surrounded by inspiring photographers who like me came to CPR to learn from some of the industry’s most qualified photographers and inspirational scrapbook experts. CPR’s interactive classes provided me with hands-on experience and opened my eyes to the top techniques for capturing everyday moments, creating priceless portraits, and will help make my photographs better than ever, not that I'm a "professional" but for sure I came out with a great set of tool that for sure will help me get better and enjoy more this wonderful word of Photo and Scrap...Or like Lisa B. said ..From now on ..I'm a SCRAPHOTOGRAFER!

During these days we played and we learned! My team of scavenger hunters were Dawn, Jenn, Kelly, and Marish! Wonderful girls! here our group photo

Additionally during these day we took a couple of photoshop courses and even that I didn't have any computer with me I was able to come home and start to play with what I learned.. obviously after much trouble, as all the program I had..were oooooold versions! I still need to get camara raw! :o( I haven't been able to find how to open it!!!..anyway..here some examples of the PS and Macro lens photos

Bad Girls Week #2 Homework

The Homework for this week was to play with Mixed patterns. Combining different patterns can be stunning and dramatic on your pages if you do it right. There's a trick to mixing and matching patterns and colors. You need a healthy dose of creative imagination and some courage to use variety

Principle 1- Colors
Color remains an extremely important aspect, particularly how you use it. Patterned Papers have a gazillion colors to choose from. So how do you decide which papers to mix?

Principle 2 - Gallon, Quart and Pint
This has been a design principle in Interior Decorating forever and it works in scrapbooking too. When mixing patterns, mix pattern scales as well. One pattern should be large, one medium and one small. If you decide you want a floral pattern as your attention getter, pick a large pattern. Then pair it with, say a thin, narrow pattern of stripes with similar colors as the large floral. Make the large pattern your "signature" pattern, the one that grabs the atention. Be sure that the other patterns are smaller and more subdued

Principle 3 - VARY PATTERNS
Mixing various types of patterns is a good way to get started. Think florals with stripes and grid paper. Using three florals together, even if they are different scales, will look busy and cluttered. As you can see, for this layout I chose a floral, a dot and a stripe.

Principle 4 - Play!
Remember...there's no right or wrong in scrapbooking. Experiement with mixing patterns and see what mix YOU like. Play with whimsical papers and designs that fit your theme. Play with colors in embellishments and trims. Sometimes you can break all of the rules and LOVE the result. Try a few different things until you get the feel for mixing patterns and you'll be hooked in no time!

Here is My take on the homework!

Well for many years I wanted to get involve on the Cancer Walk, actually the 3 days walk..but never got the time to really do it or take the time to train..well this year I mentioned to DH and he sign us to be part of the Pfizer Team !! Woo hoo!

Is not the 3days walk but..OMG is a great starting point..as I/we don't do much exercise these days!! I know so bad!..but the good thing is that for this 5K walk we actually started to train..Oh Yea...We started walking about two days a ago..and is great (everything hurt) !!! But I have time to spend with my DH and do some exercise..So we could actually do the walk!! How cool is that!

So, I will be posting some picture of us training so!! Keep in touch!

Here is a quick overview of the walk!
On Sunday, September 14, 2008, the Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will be holding its 18th annual 5K run/walk. On that day 22,000 New Yorkers, including 1,500 breast cancer survivors, will come together to run breast cancer out of town.
Woo!! Lot of people!! Ha!!

More updates to come!!
